PROLOG 2 – We Can Trust God Because He is Truth.
As I continue this study, you will find that it definitely requires using the “sound mind of Christ” for us to understand God’s truth as found in the Scriptures in ways that you may not have initially thought about, BUT with God the Holy Spirit’s help, our thinking becomes clearer and more pure.
Titus 1:15 To the pure [in heart and conscience] all things are pure, but to the defiled and corrupt and unbelieving nothing is pure; their very minds and consciences are defiled and polluted. AMP
First of all – God Himself is the ONLY God of truth:
Isaiah 65:16 So [it shall be] that he who invokes a blessing on himself in the land shall do so by saying, May the God of truth and fidelity {/trust worthiness} [the Amen] bless me; and he who takes an oath in the land shall swear by the God of truth and faithfulness to His promises {cf. 2 Corinthians 1:20} [the Amen], because the former troubles are forgotten and because they are hidden from My eyes. [2 Cor 1:20; Rev 3:14.] AMP
God the Son is Truth:
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me. AMP
God the Holy Spirit and God the Father are the Truth:
John 16:13 But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell {with you} whatever {truth} He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. AMP
God’s Word – the Bible is Truth. The Triune God and His Word are our ONLY resources for absolute Truth!:
John 17:17 {Jesus speaking about us His followers} Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth. AMP
I believe that the Bible contains not only God’s revealed Truth but His knowledge and wisdom for us – His adopted children through our faith in Jesus Christ as our personal Savior to have daily victory over sin and the world as revealed in the following prayer:
Matthew 6:9-13 Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come {which lives in us now}, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven (left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our debtors. 13 And lead (bring) us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. AMP
Pray daily the preceding prayer and for the sound mind of Christ to help you find in the Bible and to comprehend and to use God’s truth to have daily victory in your life.
