WHAT DOES IT MEAN for GOD to BE OUR “VITAL NECESSITY?”

© God being so involved and multifaceted in our lives that it is impossible for us to exist without His presence. i.e. He is a vital necessity.

Previously, I stated that God is a “VITAL NECESSITY” in the daily life of each living human being. The Amplified Bible is the ONLY translation that uses the phrase “vital necessity” in our relationship with and to God. As I study the Bible and come closer to God, I am awed and over whelmed by what the Bible says about what His intricacy and His intimacy with His creatures who are made in His image – man.

The DEFINITION of the WORD “INTRICACY.”

The definition I will use for the word “intricacy” is, “God being so involved and multifaceted {containing many different characteristics} in our lives that it is impossible for us to exist without His presence i.e. He is a ‘vital necessity’/something we cannot live without in our lives.” Oxygen is an example. (1) As you read through the following Scriptures, see if this is what you discern about His continual presence in our lives whether a man or woman is saved or unsaved.
(1) When You send forth Your Spirit and give them breath, they are created, and You replenish the face of the ground. (Psalms 104:30) AMP
(1a) As long as my life is still whole within me, and the breath of God is [yet] in my nostrils, (Job 27:3) AMP
Now set your mind and heart to seek (inquire of and require as your vital necessity) the Lord your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy vessels of God may be brought into the house built to the Name and renown of the Lord. (1 Chronicles 22:19) AMP
And you {put your name}, Solomon my son, know the God of your father [have personal knowledge of Him, be acquainted with, and understand Him; appreciate, heed, and cherish Him] and serve Him with a blameless heart and a willing mind. For the Lord searches all hearts and minds and understands all the wanderings of the thoughts. If you seek Him [inquiring for and of Him and requiring Him as your first and vital necessity] you will find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever! (1 Chronicles 28:9) AMP
The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there were any who understood, dealt wisely, and sought after God, inquiring for and of Him and requiring Him [of vital necessity]. (Psalms 14:2) AMP
Let not those who wait and hope and look for You, O Lord of hosts, be put to shame through me {put your name}; let not those who seek and inquire for and require You [as their vital necessity] be brought to confusion and dishonor through me, O God of Israel. (Psalms 69:6) AMP
Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.  [Deut 4:29-30.] (Jeremiah 29:13) AMP

OTHER REFERRENCES SHOWING GOD AS BEING “VITAL” TO MAN:

Then Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself [determinedly, as his vital need] to seek the Lord; he proclaimed a fast in all Judah. (2 Chronicles 20:3) AMP
But there is [a vital force] a spirit [of intelligence] in man, and the breath of the Almighty {God the Holy Spirit} gives men understanding.  [Prov 2:6.] (Job 32:8) AMP
You {God} have said, Seek My face [inquire for and require My presence as your vital need]. My heart says to You, Your face (Your presence), Lord, will I seek, inquire for, and require [of necessity and on the authority of Your Word]. (Psalms 27:8) AMP
May all those who seek, inquire of and for You, and require You [as their vital need] rejoice and be glad in You; and may those who love Your salvation say continually, Let God be magnified! (Psalms 70:4) AMP
Yet the people turn not to Him Who smote them, neither do they seek [inquire for or require as their vital need] the Lord of hosts. (Isaiah 9:13) AMP
I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. (John 15:5) AMP
So that you may surely learn to sense what is vital, and approve and prize what is excellent and of real value [recognizing the highest and the best, and distinguishing the moral differences], and that you may be untainted and pure and unerring and blameless [so that with hearts sincere and certain and unsullied, you may approach] the day of Christ [not stumbling nor causing others to stumble]. (Philippians 1:10) AMP
Then I fell prostrate at his feet to worship (to pay divine honors) to him, but he [restrained me] and said, Refrain! [You must not do that!] I am [only] another servant with you and your brethren who have [accepted and hold] the testimony borne by Jesus. Worship God! For the substance (essence) of the truth revealed by Jesus is the spirit of all prophecy [the vital breath, the inspiration of all inspired preaching and interpretation of the divine will and purpose, including both mine and yours]. (Revelation 19:10) AMP

OTHER REFERRENCES SHOWING GOD AS BEING A NECESSITY to MAN:

Seek the Lord [inquire for Him, inquire of Him, and require Him as the foremost necessity of your life], all you humble of the land who have acted in compliance with His revealed will and have kept His commandments; seek righteousness, seek humility [inquire for them, require them as vital]. It may be you will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger. (Zephaniah 2:3) AMP
I have had one message for Jews and Gentiles alike-the necessity of turning from sin to God through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:21) TLB
Let us stop going over the same old ground again and again, always teaching those first lessons about Christ. Let us go on instead to other things and become mature in our understanding, as strong Christians ought to be. Surely we don’t need to speak further about the foolishness of trying to be saved by being good, or about the necessity of faith in God; (Hebrews 6:1) TLB

Somehow as time has evolved, sinful man is trying to eliminate the presence and influence of the true living and loving God and His Son in his/her personal life. I pray that while this chapter may not seem to be of much importance, as you meditate upon the preceding Scriptures God will open your spiritual eyes to His intricate and intimate involvement in your life whether you want to admit it or not!
