INTRODUCTION – Let’s Learn A Little Bit About God. Who Does Scripture Claim God To Be?

Jeremiah 10:10 But the Lord is the true God and the God of truth (the God Who is Truth). He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth quakes, and the nations are not able to bear His indignation. AMP

Just Who is God? This introductory verse shares with us that God is the “living God,” “the true God,” “the God of truth,” and “the everlasting King.” In short, there is no other God like Him!
Isaiah 45:18 For thus says the Lord — Who created the heavens, God Himself, Who formed the earth and made it, Who established it and did not create it to be a worthless waste; He formed it to be inhabited — I am the Lord, and there is no one else. AMP
Isaiah 45:21 Declare and bring forward your strong arguments [for praying to gods that cannot save]; yes, take counsel together. Who announced this [the rise of Cyrus and his conquests] beforehand (long ago)? [What god] declared it of old? Was it not I, the Lord? And there is no other God besides Me, a rigidly and uncompromisingly just and righteous God and Savior; there is none besides Me. AMP

What are some of God’s characteristics?
God is omnipotent – all powerful!
Job 42:2 I know that You can do all things, and that no thought or purpose of Yours can be restrained or thwarted. AMP
Jeremiah 32:17 Alas, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! There is nothing too hard or too wonderful for You — AMP
Luke 1:37 For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. AMP
Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose, AMP
Luke 18:27 But He {Jesus} said, What is impossible with men is possible with God. [Gen 18:14; Jer 32:17.] AMP

God is omniscient – knows everything about everything!
Psalms 147:5 Great is our Lord and of great power; His understanding is inexhaustible and boundless. AMP
Psalms 139:1-4 O LORD, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me. 2 You know my downsitting and my uprising; You understand my thought afar off. [Matt 9:4; John 2:24,25.] 3 You sift and search out my path and my lying down, and You are acquainted with all my ways. 4 For there is not a word in my tongue [still unuttered], but, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. [Heb 4:13.] AMP
Revelation 21:3 Then I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live (encamp, tent) among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God. [Ezek 37:27.] AMP

God is omnipresent – As Spirit, He is able to be everywhere at once!
Deuteronomy 4:39 Know, recognize, and understand therefore this day and turn your [mind and] heart to it that the Lord is God in the heavens above and upon the earth beneath; there is no other. AMP
Psalms 139:7-12 Where could I go from Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead), behold, You are there. [Rom 11:33.] 9 If I take the wings of the morning or dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 Even there shall Your hand lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me and the night shall be [the only] light about me, 12 Even the darkness hides nothing from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You. [Dan 2:22.] AMP
Jeremiah 23:23-24 Am I a God at hand, says the Lord, and not a God afar off? 24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? says the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? says the Lord. AMP

God is also eternal meaning He has no beginning nor end. He is NOT created meaning somehow He has always been/existed!
Psalms 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth or ever You had formed and given birth to the earth and the world {creation}, even from everlasting to everlasting You are God. AMP

God is Triune i.e. He is represented as three Persons but as ONE God. Jesus Christ is unique as He is represented as TWO Persons – God the Son and the Son of Man. Each Person of the Trinity is Eternal! Carefully study the following scriptures and translations to understand what God’s Word can say.
John 1:1-2 IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word ({Son of Man Jesus}Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God {the Son} Himself. [Isa 9:6.] 2 He was present originally with God {the Father and God the Holy Spirit in the beginning making up the Trinity}. AMP
Daniel 7:9 I kept looking until thrones were placed [for the assessors with the Judge], and the Ancient of Days [God, the eternal Father] took His seat, Whose garment was white as snow and the hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was like the fiery flame; its wheels were burning fire. [1 Kings 22:19; Ps 90:2; Ezek 1:26-28; Dan 7:13,22; Matt 19:28; Rev 20:4.] AMP
Hebrews 9:14 How much more surely shall the blood of Christ, Who by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit [His own preexistent divine personality] has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the [ever] living God? AMP
Hebrews 9:14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal {Holy} Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? NASU
Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord [the only Lord]. AMP
1 John 5:20 And we [have seen and] know [positively] that the Son of God {God the Son} has [actually] come to this world and has given us understanding and insight [progressively] to perceive (recognize) and come to know better and more clearly Him Who is true; and we are in Him Who is true — in His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah). This [{Son of} Man] is the true God and Life eternal. AMP
