CHAPTER 14 – TRUE BELIEVERS MUST CONFRONT the FALSE TEACHERS and THEIR FALSE TEACHINGS WITHIN the CHRISTIAN CHURCH.

There were false prophets/teachers in the Old Testament, and at this present time, there are many false teachers and pastors within the “Christian Church.” God’s Word shares with us about their presence within the Church, how they will teach false doctrines even to the point of negating God the Son/Jesus Christ by trying to make Him impotent in the Bible {His Word}, His Kingdom, and Its Gospel Message thus making Him of no value nor use in our lives nor in the “kingdom(s) of the world.” I believe their reason for doing this is for personal and/or financial gain.
2 Peter 2:1-3 BUT ALSO [in those days {Old Testament days}] there arose false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among yourselves {New Testament Saints}, who will subtly and stealthily introduce heretical doctrines (destructive heresies), even denying and disowning the Master {Jesus Christ} Who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2And many {Make Believer Christians} will follow their immoral ways and lascivious doings {sexual misconduct}; because of them the true Way {Gospel Message} will be maligned {smeared} and defamed {falsely accused}.3And in their covetousness (lust, greed) they will exploit you with false (cunning) arguments. From of old the sentence [of condemnation] for them has not been idle; their destruction (eternal misery) has not been asleep {They will be revealed and judged for who they truly are in God’s time}. AMP
Paul shares with us how he dealt with the Make Believers of his time – deceitful workers and false teachers within Christ’s Church and his reason for doing so.
2 Corinthians 11:10-15 “As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia. Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do! But what I am doing I will continue to do, so that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.” NASU
I believe the question becomes, “Do I/you/we love our brothers and sisters enough
to share with them God’s truth about what is happening within the Christian Church?” In the above text, Paul shares with us the boasting of those who are being led astray in their faith and teaching by Satan and his counterfeit and false demonic teachers and workers within the Christian Church. What we MUST understand is these Make Believers ABSOLUTELY believe they have God’s TRUTH! They are the ones to have these NEW revelations from “God!” The Orthodox Teachings of the Bible were and are in error, and we MUST receive and embrace these “new teachings” so we {the Christian Church} fit into the current politically correct whims of this time and place in history!

Either you are going to have to discern and embrace and follow the true and correct teaching found within Christ’s Bride Church or you will embrace and follow the false teachings being put forth by the NOW UNBELIEVERS – those who once believed the truth but now follow an ecumenical “one world religion” which I will further discuss in CHAPTER 14.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 BUT UNDERSTAND this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with and hard to bear]. 2For people {Make Believer Christians} will be lovers of self and [utterly] self-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate [greedy] desire for wealth, proud and arrogant and contemptuous boasters. They will be abusive (blasphemous, scoffing), disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane. 3[They will be] without natural [human] affection ({homosexuals} callous and inhuman), relentless (admitting of no truce or appeasement); [they will be] slanderers (false accusers, troublemakers), intemperate and loose in morals and conduct, uncontrolled and fierce, haters of good. 4[They will be] treacherous [betrayers], rash, [and] inflated with self-conceit. [They will be] lovers of sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather than lovers of God. 5 For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away from them]. AMP
1 John 2:19 These “against-Christ” people {Make Believers} used to be members of our churches, but they never really belonged with us or else they would have stayed. When they left us it proved that they were not of us at all {Actually they were Unbelievers/unsaved sinners all along.}. TLB
The following texts give us directions from God’s Word – the Bible – for dealing with these false teachers and their false teachings that they bring into Christ’s Church.
1 Corinthians 15:33-34 {As a Christian} Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character. Awake [from your drunken stupor and return] to sober {spiritual} sense and your right minds, and sin no more. For some of you have not the knowledge of God [you are utterly and willfully and disgracefully ignorant, and continue to be so, lacking the sense of God’s presence and all true knowledge of Him]. I say this to your shame. AMP {You have NOT matured in your faith in God! You do NOT read the Bible, you do NOT pray, you do NOT go to church, your life has NOT changed, and you think you are SAVED! You can fool me, BUT you cannot fool God!!!}
2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1 {As a Christian} Don’t be teamed with those who do not love the Lord, for what do the people of God have in common with the people of sin? How can light live with darkness? 15 And what harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a Christian be a partner with one who doesn’t believe? 16 And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For you are God’s temple, the home of the living God, and God has said of you, “I will live in them and walk among them, and I will be their God and they shall be my people.”
17 That is why the Lord has said, “Leave them; separate yourselves from them; don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you 18 and be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters.” 7:1 Having such great promises as these, dear friends, let us turn away from everything wrong, whether of body or spirit, and purify ourselves, living in the wholesome fear of God, giving ourselves to him alone. TLB
2 Timothy 2:14-16 {As a Christian} “Remind [the people] of these facts and [solemnly] charge them in the presence of the Lord to avoid petty controversy over words, which does no good but upsets and undermines the faith of the hearers. Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness.” AMP
Paul now shares with us how we can keep from being led astray in our spiritual supernatural walk in the Kingdom of God.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.” AMP
I believe all truly “Born Again” Christians are involved in spiritual supernatural warfare and MUST be continuously clothed with the “armor of God” as a “soldier of Christ.”
Ephesians 6:11-12 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. AMP
2 Timothy 2:3-4 Take [with me] your share of the hardships and suffering [which you are called to endure] as a good (first-class) soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of [civilian] life; his aim is to satisfy and please the one {Jesus Christ} who enlisted him {in the Army of God}. AMP
As a spiritual supernatural citizen of the Kingdom of God, spiritually and supernaturally seated next to Christ on His throne, we MUST realize that we are NOT citizens of the physical secular “kingdom(s) of the world,” but rather we are aliens in this world on our way passing through it!
Philippians 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, NKJV
Colossians 3:1, 3 IF THEN you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. [Ps 110:1.]
3 For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. AMP
1 Peter 2:11 Dear brothers, you are only visitors {aliens – NIV} here. Since your real home is in heaven, I beg you to keep away from the evil pleasures of this world; they are not for you, for they fight against your very souls. TLB
